GOALS! motivational ideas!

Today i am going to share with you some of the foundations that I feel help motivate clients to both achieve their health goals and make the process of change more enjoyable. Let’s start by acknowledging that lifestyle change is a process, not an event. This is especially true when it comes to weight loss and adopting new eating habits. The cells in your body react to everything that the mind s...ays. To effectively support the process of lifestyle change we must understand the power of our minds and our ability to change. What it has shown is that our thoughts can change the structure and function of our brains, even into old age, and there are several key attitudes that can facilitate this change. Whether you’re looking for effective coaching strategies or wanting to cultivate your own mindset that will create the body of your dreams, cultivating these attitudes will help to positively reshape your brain to achieve your short term, and long term goals. •Self Acceptance– Give yourself a “Clap not a Slap”! Remind yourself of what you are doing well no matter how small. •Self belief– “Be Curious not Critical”. What are the possibilities of your success? I always like to use visualization and your imagination. For example, think about how you would look and feel in your ideal body? •Focus – Focus on what you want. Wherever your focus goes, energy flows. •Reward motivated behavior –release that dopamine- most types of reward increase the level of dopamine in the brain. Your change process needs to be fun, rewarding and enjoyable. What are the rewards? •Self compassion – “Feedback not Failure”. What have you learned from your choices and experiences? Reflect on what you can learn from the choices that you make rather than dwelling on them. Every choice is an opportunity to learn and create a greater awareness. •“Excitement not Excuses”. WHY have you set your goals? Remind yourself of your WHY when excuses arise. When your WHY is well thought out, then lining up your choices and decisions to reflect your WHY is easier. •“Gratitude is Your Best Attitude”. Be grateful and acknowledge all that you do have in life right NOW. If you are struggling to achieve your goals, try implementing some of these fundamental attitudes in your life. Not only will they help you achieve those goals, they will also make it all the more fun!
