Infused waters

I have posted about infused waters before in my recipe section. They are a great way to pump your body with vitamins and minerals, while also helping with detox. . Lemon helps with digestion and boosts your immune system while cleansing and alkalizing the body. Mint helps with upset stomachs, digestion and of course adds a freshness without adding sweetener or sugars. Cucumbers help with rehydration, have anti-inflamm...atory properties and help rid the body of ammonia, which is a by-product of the proteins our bodies burn for energy. In a 33 oz bottle, I used… ~ 2/3 cucumber 1 lemon 3 mint sprigs I will reuse the fruit several times/day and discard after 24 hours. Let the water sit for about 20 minutes before drinking.

I frequently get asked the question of why I put peel in my water. When added to water the rind and skin of the fruits releases the nutrients and citrus oils. The rind of orange for example, is bursting with powerful antioxidants called super-flavonoids, which can significantly reduce levels of cholesterol. The antioxidants obtained from the peel are 20 times more powerful than those from the juice. I also recommend drinking from glass bottles as not only are they easier to reuse, the water tastes better and is healthier. There are many chemicals in plastic, such as bisphenol A - when released into the water it can effect our hormone levels, specifically imitating the female hormones in the body. takethetimetodewyou #dewfitness
