IF IT FITS YOUR MACROS- IIYFM is a waste of time...


I do not agree with the way of eating called "IIFYM" (if it fits your macros) yes you can eat the right amount of calories that your body requires and yes you will lose weight and gain muscle, but is it healthy? No. The macro nutrients you put in your body should be from healthy sources such as sweet potato and fish. I believe in working from the inside out, Your gut has the second highest level of serotonin levels in the body next to your brain, there is a chemical that your body produces gives reaction to food intolerances to certain foods and it effects your body. Even that we do not know how to test for healthy gut flora and if your health is deteriorating, what you put in your body should still be consistent of healthy macro nutrients. Health should mean you look good and perform well rather than aesthetically if you are super slim.
