Coffee


COFFEE!

Coffee is very healthy for you if you can tolerate it well. Its positively affects cardiovascular health and liver health. Along with the cardiovascular and liver benefits there are also studies showing long term brain health. This is likely due to the caffeine that is found in coffee. Caffeine and coffee both increase insulin sensitivity which may be the factors that contribute to better brain health. In fact Alzheimers is sometimes also referred to as "type 3 diabetes." Yup...many of our chronic health issues can be connected to glucose intolerance. Not to mention the positive dopaminergic effects of caffeine...dopamine is good for the brain. Dopamine is a "feel good" neurotransmitter...its considered a motivator and a driver. This is why coffee is like liquid ambition. Dopamine rules. Throw in some serotonin (the love neurotransmitter) and you have yourself a party.

Now I would also point out not to take coffee after 3 in the afternoon. Caffiene can stimulate the sympathetic nervous system for up for 6 hours following a cup of coffee and since i tell everyone to be in bed by 2230, it is best to not drink after 3. And to be honest if your diet is good you should not need these stimulants after 3.
